The Building Permit Guy is currently seeking 1 Junior Architectural Technologist to join our award winning team! Junior Level Architectural Technologist

​

We are looking for someone who has knowledge of the 2012 Ontario Building Code (Part 9), is experienced with drafting using BIM software and can work independently with minimal supervision. You need to have a great attitude and willingness to learn.  

This position will have you training at our office in Dunnville, Ontario which is located less than a 30 minute stress-free drive from Hamilton and Welland. You will be responsible for preparing construction drawings according to our format for a large variety of residential construction projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Completion of a post-secondary degree/diploma in Architectural Technology or a related field. *(current students within 1 year of graduating are welcome to apply)

• Strong residential drafting skills using BIM software (bonus points if you have experience with Softplan)

• Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code - Part 9, *(Bonus points if you have experience in other parts of the code as well)

• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings

• Strong attention to detail is necessary

• Fluency in reading and writing in English is required

• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;

• Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Salary: $22-$25/Hr. during training period. After 3 month training period, wage increase based on performance.
